And getting more so. These individuals are too far gone to be anything but a huge danger. They deserve the death penalty - it's the fairest thing for the victims family and will save thousands not to keep them in prison for the rest of their lives.

How is that fair to the victim(s? There was only one victim)?
How is that fair to the perpetrators families? "Well, luckily your child(ren)didn't kill their victim, but, we are going to kill them anyway. Well, unless you pay us $X/year for their needs and upkeep."

Yes, they need to be punished, and justice served. But, it needs to at least fit the crime and charges that have been filed.
Under justice proposals like you suggest, we should get rid of anyone and everyone that doesn't contribute to society. Let's test every child early in school to see if they have any inherent skills/talents and force them down that line of education and work to make the best of each citizen and resources. Then, heaven forbid they get in some kind of accident or some illness prevents them from following through with their government assigned life goal. What then? "Sorry, you can no longer contribute as we see fit, and we certainly aren't going to pay or contribute back to you to keep fed, clothed and sheltered, as it would be a waste of resources. Bang, bang. But, fair is fair, you know"
