From today's NY TIMES:

"...SAMANTHA BEE, ‘FULL FRONTAL WITH SAMANTHA BEE’ It took just the first episode for Ms. Bee to go from a comedian who needs her own show to a comedian whose show is needed. The Oct. 10 installment aired after the “Access Hollywood” tape landed, and for one relentless half-hour, Ms. Bee put misogyny before her one-woman firing squad. The key to her comedy is a mix of crisp and blunt, with lots of body sarcasm and a lethal dose of intellectual side-eye. She’s funny even when the show’s smart writing doesn’t need her to be. She’s funny when all she’s done is cock her head."

I love Sam Bee, and appreciate her putting herself out there, despite the misogynists who seem to think that having a vagina invalidates your opinion. I think some people have a difficult time with outspoken, unabashed women who aren't afraid to share they're opinions. And to them I say "suck it up, buttercup".

marissajordan -- you're the best. Thank you for that. I agree with you -- and if Sam were samuel and not samantha, no one would take her to task for her opinions. Amazing how, at this late stage in civilization, a woman with a brain is considered a threat.

It's also strange that the haters want to hold a comedian to journalistic standards, but won't hold actual news sources to those same standards. I'm thinking some people don't understand this is a comedian giving her opinion in a funny way. This is not the nightly news.

Going right to the point which should be obvious is that Bee is intellectually dishonest. In other words she makes statements and opinions that just are not true when looked at in a wider context. No reason not to hold her to some standard of intellectual honesty and the same holds true for commentators, reporters, anybody that gets commercial air time to voice an opinion on politics.

The imagined misogyny just will not play with the election over so find a new scapegoat. Helen Thomas and Cokie Roberts were disseminating left of center political opinion before Bee was even conceived. People will start to take Bee seriously when she stops talking like she is a paid spokesperson. She needs to start talking in terms of ideals and political thought then let that take her to politicians that she can empathize with. Did she ever notice that during the election cycle this year that when HRC had a bump in the polls that the Dow Jones had a positive bump as well? The Dow did not jump because they were planning on looking out for Main Street America. The Fortune 500 companies knew darn well if HRC got elected that they would get a handsome return for the HRC speeches they paid for. By the way the loneliest person in America is no longer the Maytag repairman but the person responsible for tabulating the contributions to the Clinton Foundation.

I don't care and do not accept the comedian excuse. And to be fair I do not accept it from journalists, comedians, commentators, and who ever else out there has an opinion. Further, just because somebody does not share your opinion does not make them a troll.

I don't care that you won't accept that she's a comedian. Facts is facts, darlin. And trolls are trolls. It's not that you have a different opinion, it's that you act all trolly. That's all. You're all up and down this board talking about how much you hate Sam Bee and this show. There's a simple solution I know has been pointed out to you before. If you hate her and the show so much, don't freaking watch it.

Not responding anymore to you, as wasting time on trolls is not my bag.

Stop crying that somebody does not share your view and further attempt to ban others from making an opinion. I offer reasons as to my opinion which include the dislike of her intellectual dishonesty. I will continue to offer comment on this board which is both a right and a responsibility. Anybody who puts out dishonesty needs to be called out on it regardless of political stripe. No exceptions for comedians or anybody else. See ya soon!!!

No she's not. Comedians are funny. Bee is a propagandist that hides behind comedy as an excuse for being so partisan and biased. She's not at all funny, not even a little bit.

Humor is subjective, and it depends on the person to decide what is humorous to them. I think she's funny, you don't. If you don't find her funny, and don't like her show, I'd suggest you stop watching it. For example, I think the movie Caddyshack is not funny. I realize many others think it is. I don't watch that movie, nor do I go over to that message board just to inform them I don't find it funny. That'd be a waste of my time and effort.

As I said, comedians are funny, she's just a shill pushing an anti-American message.
