Miles (spoilers)

I loved Miles this season. Eric is able to portray such an emotional vulnerability that makes me really care about Miles even when he's being obnoxious and/or self-destructive. I especially loved the last episode with him and Hunter. I think he saw a distorted mirror image of himself in Hunter realizing that they both have a lot of issues to work through. All I know is Miles can't leave for boarding school because he has become my favorite character and I would really miss him if he goes...Esme can leave though!
The one thing that bugged me though is that if someone genuinely has anxiety it's okay to take meds for that and I would hope that Miles' doctor would prescribe him something. It almost seemed to be insinuated that he can't take meds at all but he can as long as they're prescribed, he doesn't abuse them and he still sees a psychiatrist and possibly a psychologist on a regular basis.

I really enjoyed miles in this too. But I think he was a total idiot for just swallowing whatever Esme was handing to him! And I wish miles would stop playing with Tristan.

I love that the actor has more to play with now that this is on Netflix.

And if he actually does go to boarding school this leaves us with an opportunity for an epic return. (Or maybe he just goes into the degrassi black hole lol)

You're absolutely right about both the Esme situation and Tristan. I really hated how he thought Esme cared about him, yet he blindly took a pill that when he asked what it was, she said, "Does it matter?" Of course it matters!!! To find out that he had horse tranquilizer among so many other things in his system was very sad. What also bothered me about her is that when Miles woke up trashed in front of school all she did was make fun of how he smelled. She didn't worry about what had happened to him and when he said that he could have died she just blows it off. The other moment, besides the despicable act of faking a suicide, was that when he hit his head outside of Lola's family's restaurant she just laughed and wondered if he'd remember that. I'm guessing they will try to redeem her character at some point but as of now, I can't find any redeeming qualities.
As far as his interactions with Tristan are concerned, I was so worried after the election that Miles was really going to go after Tristan to find a way to destroy him, but he was too busy self-destructing to really do too much to Tristan. That's also why I'm glad Miles showed he still cared about Tristan in the last three episodes, but it isn't fair to Tristan for Miles to keep him on the hook like this and continually reel him in with charm then cast him away when he has another meltdown. That's not to say Tristan doesn't has his faults because he does have them, many of them! I just want Triles to be friends again even if they aren't boyfriends because they both seemed happier when they had each other in their lives.

As someone who suffers from panic attacks, I was happy to see it addressed by the show. Eric did an amazing job, in my opinion, with his acting out these emotional scenes.

I think the character of Esme has a lot of potential. When Imogen was initially introduced, she seemed a bit self-destructive, but her character really evolved. Degrassi covered the issue of self-mutilation with Ellie on TNG and mental disorders with Eli. However similar Esme is to these characters, she has initially been portrayed to us as having much deeper issues and I hope they are explored more in the next season.

A doctor would never prescribe someone anxiety pills if they have a history of abusing them.

Esme is pretty much a rehash of Imogen. Imogen did the same thing with Eli when it came to controlling him with medication.

I hated him at first but he grew on me. He was almost like an antihero by the end of the season.

Yeah he definitely grew on me and was my favorite this season hands down. I hope he doesn't leave for boarding school for real, because if he does, I don't know how Hunter will remain calm for the remainder of the show. Hunter needs emotionally support and so does Miles. As a matter of fact, that whole entire Hollingsworth family needs help. hahaha
