My Review (spoilers)

As a Degrassi fan from the get go, I think that this season is a good start. I got so tuned into each episode that I finished it all in a day. I really hope that there's a season 2. I like that because TeenNick is not in control of the show anymore that now the show has the creativity to "go there." I really was scared for Maya when she was getting sent those death threats. I liked how her relationship was with Zig. Hopefully they get back together in the next season. I was really impressed with what they did with Hunter. It reminded me of the Rick situation where the season starts where this character is picked on or misunderstood with anger issues and then slowly spirals into a psycho. That last episode gave me chills. Hopefully in the next season Miles will tell someone about Hunter. Even though he didn't kill anyone, it doesn't mean that he isn't capable of it. He even admitted that it's possible he would have killed them. The only thing I was disappointed in was the Jonah and Frankie relationship. I personally think they have no chemistry and he had better chemistry with Maya even though I would rather Maya be with Zig. Well, hopefully this show gets renewed and that we won't have to wait a year. The seasons are short enough.

I've been watching degrassi on and off since the beginning and I have to say that I feel like the show has become too bubble gum. They don't delve into the serious issues with the rawness they used too. Almost like it's not taken as seriously anymore. I did feel like it got meatier towards the end in regards to Hunter and his anger (i.e. threatening and "swatting" Maya, bringing a gun to school.) I really hope they continue with that intensity in the following episodes.

On another note: I read somewhere else that they missed an opportunity with Miles drug use to not examine male rape. (The one topic they haven't covered) You know when he woke up from a night of partying missing his pants.

Yeah I feel like Degrassi is slowing getting into more of the everyday issues of being a teen compared to it being only about relationship drama. According to Stefan Brogen, the next season of Next Class will "go there" but then again, he says that about every season. LOL.

What did you think about Grace and Zoe??

Also, that scene with Shay and Lola made me a little sad because it took me back to high school. Where Shay told Lola it was totally fine for Lola to go after Tiny.

This season was awesome. Wish they gave us more than just 10!

I like the Grace and Zoe storyline. At first, I rolled my eyes at it when they introduced their relationship in the Don't Look Back movie because it felt random and I didn't know if they decided to make Zoe bi-sexual just to add more LGBT characters. But then I saw their chemistry in Next Class and I really liked it. I feel like Grace makes Zoe a better person just like Paige made Alex. Plus, I like that Zoe doesn't care what anyone thinks of her relationship with Zoe-not even her mom. I do think that Grace is lying when she says she likes Zig. I think she was just telling Zoe that for the same reason that Hazel wanted to let Augustus go in Fault in Our Star- to prevent anymore casualties.

While I don't like that Lola dated Tiny knowing that her best friend has feelings for him, I don't blame her because if Shay is never gonna make a move and choses to let her parents run her life, then Lola should go for it or she'll be wondering 'what if.' But she also should have been more sensitive to Shay's feels instead of making her feel guilty when she was asking for her blessing.

LOL. I actually don't like Maya/Zig and I like Jonah/Frankie.

Oh well.
