Lola contradicting herself

During the episode "#PicsOrItDidntHappen" Frankie asks if a guy and a girl can be friends and Shay says yes and points out all of the guys that Lola's friends with(Vijay, Hunter and Baaz). Lola replies yo Frankie with "That doesn't count! One is gay, one is your brother and one is Baaz." She was pretty much saying that she could never hook-up with Hunter because he's Frankie's brother but then lets Frankie's other brother get her pregnant. She was not making sense at all!

There's nothing in my post that even suggests that I'm comparing Hunter to Miles. I was just talking Lola contradicting herself. So what are you talking about?!

The user is saying don't think too much into the "Frankie's brother" line because while it also applies to Miles, he's a much better guy to be with than Hunter. Lola probably should have said something more distinct like "Hunter is crazy" or something but she clearly finds something disgusting about him by the way she said it. It's not actually so much because he's simply Frankie's brother and she doesn't want to date the sibling of one of her friends like it's a sin or immoral. The wording she used was just off and contradictory, but it's clear she doesn't mind being with a Frankie sibling just as long as it's not Hunter for whatever personal reasons she has for him only that she doesn't see with Miles. I hope that make sense. You are technically right about the contradiction, but there's just a different way to look at this too to see how it's not meant to be.

Seriously? Miles is a much better guy to be with than Hunter?! You can't be serious!!! Miles is a male whore who will screw any thing that walks. He's been screwing up since he came on the show. I really don't understand why Tristan or any girl is practically throwing themselves at his feet. I would rather be with Hunter to be honest. Yes he has issues but he got help and is better now. He's also more mature than Miles. He just can't seem to stop screwing things up. Lola said that she could never hook up with Hunter because he's Frankie's brother. Now we can't just ASSUME that she meant it any other way than that. Just sayin'!

Well as other users have said, Lola exactly isn't quite bright.  But while Miles have his sneaky and sniveling ways, Hunter does have anger issues and that's going to take some time to fully evaporate so we can't just quickly assume he's alright now. I'll sure as hell feel safer around Miles than Hunter regardless of who's the whore.

Well considering she ended up being with Miles, we have to. But if you want to keep seeing it as a contradiction, so be it.

I agree with you but mostly on the grounds that Lola's....Lola. She never makes any sense and often contradicts herself. I mean, just look the ordeal where she refuses Shay permission to date Tiny DESPITE Shay allowing her permission in the first place. But, I didn't feel Lola was being malicious. Just that in her own "Lola logic," this was how thing's worked.

I like the character of Lola but in that "guilty pleasure" sort of way. She's extremely naive despite not being unintelligent. It's just that she's so narrow-minded, she often misses any big pictures that don't include herself. For instance, she goes on the offense when accusing Frankie of racism but just hours/days before, likened Shay to girls SHE accused of being bad. All because of the color of Shay's skin. But, in Lola's world, she's not in the wrong at all. I mean, she said "no offense" and managed to make a Black Lives Matter movement all about her own endeavors so all is well, right?? To a logical person, no. To Lola, certainly.

When I think of Lola, I think of accidental hypocrisy. She's doesn't MEAN to contradict herself. But, damn if she ain't good at it without even trying.



Lola's a very stupid person though. She's self-involved and doesn't care about anything, or know about anything, unless it directly involves her. Always saying or doing things that make her seem more stupid than the day before. I wish they'd kept her as a side-character like before, because at least then she was a little endearing.

I always took Lola for one of those girls who actually is pretty intelligent but strongly downplays herself so as not to seem "uncool" or ward off boys who'd be intimidated by smart girls. Like Buffy Summers, Cordelia Chase, Kitty Pryde, or other girls who are stereotypically popular girls.

Some proof is in the company she keeps and her knowledge of things she's not afraid to admit. Frankie and Shay are both excellent students.

Lola seems to be able to keep up with them in an average conversation. Thus, I'm led to believe that she's smart enough to match wits with AT LEAST Frankie, if she actually wanted to. It's just that Lola gets off on being the "pretty, dumb one." But, I personally don't see Frankie and Shay putting up with Lola if she was TRULY too mentally vague to function.

Also, we look to what knowledge Lola allows herself to reveal. While many don't value cosmetic knowledge and homeopathic remedies, Lola is an expert in both categories. Like a sports fan who can easily recant sports scores, Lola knows enough about beauty to have a regular Youtube series. Likewise, while she was wrong about Tiny's diagnosis, she showed experience in what homeopathic remedy would be of use for what she thought was wrong with him. Sure, it's not calculus or physics. But, Lola's still well beyond her years in how much she knows about what she wishes to know about.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Lola's a genius. FAR from it. But, if she let herself, I think she could be an exemplary student. She's just too vain for it.


