Years ago, before the internet, Webster's dictionary described necrophilia as "having sexual intercourse with a dead body or an unconscious person". I have no idea why the meaning of it changed as they are almost the same thing.
"It's as much fun to scare as to be scared" -- Vincent Price
Horrible police work in the Daisy case!! That sheriff needs to be fired. Even the investigation after was shorty! They could prove that she couldn't consent with the blood alcohol alone. And the guy admitted to it. Also, where are the pictures from the rape kit performed in the ER? Plus she had a labial tear (I think it said) and her mother said she saw visual wounds. Also, I seriously doubt the video that was deleted was the only one going around. I'm sure it was sent to friends, downloaded somewhere, etc. That was never explored, again outrageous, horrible, laziness on the part of law enforcement. Also, the boy told the sheriff he picked those girls up, they said that they drove. That also would be easy to clarify. I was becoming physically aggravated as I watched this at how incompetent both investigators were. That rape and assault were so provable!!! That sheriff was sure right when he told that kid that he's not smart! And unbelievable how he was bragging that his investigation only took 4 hours. I guess that's all you need if you do shotty work. My heart really goes out to both of these families and what they had to endure because of such senseless acts. I hope this documentary can also open up the discussion for parents and teenagers KIDS about drinking and substance abuse. That, however doesn't excuse sexual assault of any kind. God bless these families and other families that have suffered these terrible tragedies. And shame on you Maryville law enforcement and sheriff and also the state of Missouri that also did next to nothing when the evidence is staring at you in the face!
The Sherriff was the worst part of this movie. Infuriating. Pretty much blaming the girls when it is so clear what happened. I wanted to punch his smug face so bad.
When you think about it, ALL THE EVENTS in this film NEVER would've taken place 20-25 years ago before there were camera phones, social media or viral Internet posts ... back in the days when necrophilia specifically meant fornicating with corpses.
