Could these 2 have possibly mumbled any worse??? It pissed me off SO much. I would have used a cattle prod on them until they spoke clearly about what they did. They're both absolute cowards who care ZERO about Audrie's death. When John R was asked what he had learned from this he said something like "That girls gossip more and guys are more laidback and whatever." REALLY?!?
Any time they spoke I had a hard time following because I couldn't understand them. They absolutely have no remorse and from what I can tell are only sorry they got caught. Of all the things that one could have talked about learning he seriously said that girls gossip and guys are laidback... utter b/s.
I came to see if anyone else caught that. If I were the interviewer I would have called him out on it. That's it? That's all you learned from this whole ordeal? Mindblowing!
While I'm not defending what they did, ultimately they were not the ones who drove her to suicide. I assume his point is that he simply couldn't have imagined the way that other students would be shaming her, and that it was mainly girls rather than boys who were doing it.
As if recording and sharing videos of sexual conquests, assaults, or other crimes is better than simply gossiping about it.
I doubt all those hashtags and social media comments trashing the victims were written only by girls either.
re: the mumbling... they sounded like the average guilty teen forced to answer uncomfortable questions. Tapping their feet, slumped shoulders, all that body language. Compare to Daisy`s brother. Even when describing someone as a "weenie i could probably beat the s*** out of" he comes across as likeable and expressive.
Thanks, coneyislanddreams. There's little reason they should get to be anonymous at that age. I didn't hear if they have to register as sex offenders after this.
