Open ending

Is this case closed after the final episode S01 or will there be a cliffhanger to be explained in S02.

The primary case is closed and you do find out who/whom committed the murders. I'm being vague because I don't want to spoil it. But there are some plot threads left open that I assume will be explored in S2.

Season 2 better have more to go on than what was left open in Season one or it will be one dull run.
