Way too many psychos

This was filled to the brim with completely deranged psychotic and sociopathic people. I guess the idea was to make it really difficult to tell which one of this plethora of total maniacs had committed the crime, except they made it obvious by having Henry Gibson as one of the only non-psycho acting characters who still had some kind of motive. But of course, he turned out to be a sociopath nut job too, just more of a subdued one. Although I expect it'll turn out that there was someone else even more psycho involved that Henry was protecting in some way, because while his murdering Grace and everything after that made some kind of sense if he was wanting to take her place in the family, all the other random for-fun serial killing he did seemed pointless for someone with an actual agenda. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Grace was the actual copycat killer and Henry ended up killing her to try to stop her and then tried to frame Matthew so that her memory would remain untainted.

Anyway, every other person in the show is a homicidal lunatic, which comes across as incredibly unbelievable. How many people were willing to commit acts of violence, even the protagonist detective was a domestic abuser and crazed blackout killer/body-mover. It makes it extremely difficult to suspend disbelief when the 'ordinary working person' in the world they're living in has an 80% chance of being a completely self-serving mentally ill murderer with no conscience. Humanity would never have even got off the ground if those statistics bro any resemblance to real life.

He killed the others to frame his buddy, and to make the cops not look too hard for a motive for the killing of Grace.
