....I find this show to be even darker and more haunting. Friel is amazing as Marcella...so wounded but strong in her convictions. She looks and feels so troubled, you literally want to hug her. She is pretty hypnotic in this role.
As I said, I'm a huge fan of "Luther" and I never thought another Brit-cop show could be even more grim and gritty. I was wrong.
Can't wait for season 2.
I am really enjoying this show too. I wish the people who can't find something constructive to say and instead pick on the lead character for her looks, youth/lack of youth and dress-style would just shut up though.
shareI second that. Those people have no reason to take cheap shots at her. She's a terrific actress and manages to be vulnerable, sensitive, overbearing and sexy, all at once.

shareI just binge-watched the whole thing on Netflix. Fantastic. I also like it better than Luther. Luther is amazing too but this one drew me in much more.

If you like the actress you should check out Pushing Daisies. It's a unique but really funny show she did with Lee Pace. It's an underrated hit. It lasted 2 seasons, sadly on ABC. It's more humorous but it's kind of a cop show but fairy tale elements.
