A huge failure (Spoilers)

Since in this movie, failure means to be "thinned", I seriously think whoever made that movie should be thinned without delay. There are so many ridiculous situations that we were all laughing while watching it.
Among the funny parts: the pass to open doors looks like a metal coin. If this is supposed to be the future shouldn't the passes be something more advanced than a round metal thing?
One of the female students can overpower a guard who is bigger than her!!
Contact lenses that have answers to the questions in the test when normally no one knows what the questions will be!
Generally speaking, the movie manages to have some seemingly exciting moments but they lead nowhere.
Finally, an ending that screams that there will be a sequel.
Very frustrating when you can imagine other scenarios with less holes in them.

I agree with you but for different reasons. People are really happy to send their children, every year from when they are young, to do a test which could result in them ending up in a killing room? A country is made great because only the those who lead academically are allowed to live? What about those who are not academically gifted but are gifted in other ways, would we not miss their skills? Students are routinely severely beaten and no-one bats an eye. What happens to people with learning disabilities? I could go on, but suffice to say, the whole premise of this film is one of the most ridiculous things I have seen and I actually laughed out loud when the girl was trying to get through the door after her escape and then the guy comes up and pulls the handle with the massive "manual override" sign on it. Stupid, lazy film making it at it's worst.

storrester-3, I agree with you. I think there are so many strange scenes that one could write a huge report. I believe the author, director or whoever put this thing together wanted to create a movie along the lines of hunger games, the purge or the maze runner in order to create sequel after sequel. As I have said somewhere, creativity is dead.

the cliches were so terrible too. Like having to crawl over the handsome boy and have lips get close to almost kissing to create attraction. So forced.

The thing that I rolled my eyes at the most though was the teacher giving the girl her keycard and then the boy shutting the power off giving her enough time together like they plotted the whole thing but neither of them had any idea what the other was doing.

Give me a break!
