A corny, Americanized version of 'These Final Hours'

"So, we got the dude trying to find his girlfriend ... but what if, instead of a child accompanying him, he had a FORMER NAVY SEAL??? And, what if, instead of dying in the apocalyptic event when he's reunited with his girlfriend, the event just kinda... conveniently stops?"

Watch 'These Final Hours' instead.

Yeah what a boring crappy movie this was. Feels like maybe 1 out of 10 netflix original movies is any good.

These Final Hours was a much better movie.

I liked These Final Hours, but the driving factor there was that the apocalypse was unavoidable and pretty well understood by everyone.

I'm only halfway into this, but so far they're not really motivated by anything other than wanting to get out west. They have no clue at all what they're heading into or what the phenomenon might be, besides a train full of army vehicles, a spinning compass and a weird-ass thunderstorm.

The aurora being visible below the arctic circle, the electric grid failing and the magnetic compass going wild, point to a pole reversal event which can easily cause seismic and volcanic activity, since the magnetic field is caused by a rotation of the Earth's core.
