Are we supposed to care about Taka/Sheema or the rebel group?

i do like this show but it's written so poorly at times. every time it cuts to Sheema or Taka (he's hot though!) or the rebel group it's so jarring because those storylines are so random and feel like they are from a different show. i've watched every ep of the show and when it shows the vampire established human blood camp characters/scenes, so little has been set up/shown with them that it just feels like there are 3 or 4 eps (involving the characters in question) missing from this season that actually introduced us to them. in ep. 12, out of nowhere, all of a sudden this Taka (who i don't think has ever been on the show before) character shows up planting a bomb in some basement. then Taka & Sheema have a conversation about a takedown of the blood camp(?) and the scene is being treated like this scene is a continuation of an earlier sequence.

I've been so negative about this show lately that I had decided to wait for the finale, since we were supposed to see more of the resistance.
I can't wait to read what you have to say about Taka.

Honestly, with Simon Barry on board (if not as the creator of the show, but co-showrunner and writer) I had high hopes for the resistance. Considering what he came up with in Continuum with Liber8 and the whole "Theseus" myth, I thought we could expect some great stuff, but seems like will have to wait (like we already did this whooole season) for season 2.

Ummm...Taka was in several eps prior to this one and was mentioned by other resistance members even earlier.

He was referenced when the rebels tried to steal weapons from the citadel by the folks Sheema stole the plans for. He was referenced when Rebecca killed the rebel leader. He showed up when the other rebel leader was released and he shot her for apparently being a traitor. He then spoke a few times with Sheema about the rebels plans. He showed up when he rigged the bomb, then when he snuck out of the citadel with the help of a vampire (turned out to be Rebecca). Then he was in the rebel camp organizing the attack, then he was there at the end.

Exactly how much set up did you need more than that?

well Octavius it was done extremely poorly. as i said i watch each ep and yes, i pay attention (when i watch a show/movie i do not do anything else while watching it). and again, as i've said before i DO like this show but the writing (frequently) is not very good. it is hilarious to me how you act like this is the most amazingly written/coherent show ever written. please tell me you've seen other shows that are actually high quality before.
