Daniel MILLER and not Daniel MEYER

Olen Steinhauer has let us know that the name of Armitage's character is NOT Meyer any longer, but MILLER.I can't wait to see this new Lucas North by the great Richard Armitage!

I loved Richard Armitage as Lucas North on "Spooks" and John Porter on "Strike Back." It is frustrating to see auch a talented actor who has proven himself in the spy/suspense genre to be trapped in this series with horrible writing and a boring plot. It is such a waste of his time and ability. As much as I am a fan of Richard Armitage, I'm not sure I can make it past episode two, although I might tune in if the character who says *beep* in every sentence dies. It's really easy to write dialogue if that's the only word your character has to say.

No, that's not what I meant at all. Bad writing lurks in all forms, including movies that rely on things to "blow up every five seconds" or in this case, characters who have to curse in every single sentence (any overused word or phrase detracts from the character by stereotyping him or her) and dialogue that is very stilted, despite the actors' best efforts to make it seem natural. I don't find the plot or the characters engaging, even though I love the espionage genre, in part because I find it inherently interesting. I was looking forward to this series and am disappointed, especially because I'm a fan of Richard Armitage and his character on Spooks- Lucas North is an incredibly well-written and complex character. That's just my opinion posted on a message board- I don't know how a 12-step program got involved. Always puzzles me why people go for personal attacks. Oh well.
