Couple of thoughts/questions after watching Ep 1 a second time SPOILERS!

First, with the flawed people occupying the Berlin station (US) and the combination of selfless and obnoxious self-involved people, it's much like the people who populated Le Carre's "Circus."

--So, wonder what is in the USB drive that Daniel hides in his remote Panamanian hidey hole in early scene? (And was that what they were looking for in Berlin when they shot him?)

First watch, I thought he was retrieving something, but on second watch, he appears to be using that hidden tin box as his secret stash of stuff (saw what looked like a passport in there) with all his things like money and now he's secreted that in there. He was putting the USB into plastic, therefore probably putting it into his tin box.

Wondering how it's going to relate--or not--to the Shaw materials? Has he got dirt on people? Is he really a baddie? Hm.

--Man, am I slow or what??? Only the second viewing and at the end of Ep 1 when Hector meets "Mysterious Man in Black Leather Coat Channeling Gestapo" did it hit me that that is "Miss Pimple" from the cruising barge who was dragged up.

However, it wants us to believe Hector is Shaw? But not sure Miss Pimple in her/his leather coat following the courier then killing her for hanging about with Daniel actually means Hector is Shaw. It might just be Hector has his own people following the couriers (because, after all Daniel's work at the station is secret from the staff--they don't know why he's been sent there by the Director).

So did Miss Pimple just go off the reservation and kill her simply because she was beginning to date Daniel so he didn't want Daniel to be able to get her to talk?

On the other hand, if Miss Pimple knows Daniel is scoping her out and getting close to her, then his "secret" mission at the Berlin Station is now blown, right?

Hector knows what Daniel is up to.

So, is it as simple as Hector being "Shaw?" If he were, why is he wanting Faisal to go to a safe house? He could simply not "out" Faisal in his leaks as Shaw. So no safe house needed perhaps if Hector is Shaw.

Miss Pimple was seen in black leather (not drag) pulling a USB drive off a bridge where it was taped. If Hector is Shaw and is slipping him stuff, it would be easy at the barge nightclub where he sees "her" it seems. No need for Miss Pimple to do pick ups at a bridge?

--Last, the courier Miss Pimple killed knew him and greeted him the lobby. Not sure why she knows him and in what context. So, that does hint that Hector has Miss Pimple working for him and the courier might be, too. But too soon to tell.

Wow, the second viewing was really necessary for my pea brain!

Now onto second viewing on Ep 2. Wonder what that will turn up?
