not on in the UK,missing much?

I love spy stuff so somebody tell me if this is worth seeing.

If you like spy stuff...it might be well worth seeing.

Do you like Le Carre by any chance? If so, the collection of folks at the US Berlin Station of the Agency are very familiar to you---if you remember the varied and snarky people at Le Carre's (and Smiley's) "Circus."

I gave this a punt when it appeared as a free two-episode preview on ROKU in the U.S.

Only because....noticed Olen Steinhauer wrote it. I've just finished Olen's series of novels in the "Yalta Boulevard" group, and he's rather a master at espionage and subtle writing in relation to oppressive regimes, etc.

Are you familiar with his novels? They begin post-WWII in an undefined country under the Soviet rule. I'm thinking....Hungary or Czechoslovakia, etc.

He's an amazing writer, so when realizing he wrote this....it seemed worth the time to look at both preview eps.

It is not really a spoiler, so I feel comfy in mentioning that it seems to deal with a type of wiki-leaks dynamic.

It seems quite good. Numerous dubious characters of dubious intent. Also, just the fact that it has Rhys Ifans and Richard Armitage among character actors from Britain and the U.S. mean the acting is excellent.

Give it a go? On second viewing I saw SO many more things than on the first time around on the two episodes.

It's filled with hints and foreshadowing and whatnot.

Please do let us know what you think if you find it some place. The EPIX network has a free trial (not sure if it's in the UK) for no credit card input or anything. Just free--looks like you get the first three episodes between now and Oct. 30, then it expires....

thanks for the reply.
I don't know the writer you mention but will check him out.
I expect this will turn up somewhere in the UK and when it does I will give it a try.

Epix uploaded the first two episodes on YouTube.

True.

They put them all over the place.

I found the first two on a channel on ROKU called "Crackle." Weird.

It seems the only thing the free trial with Epix gets you is Episode 3 on Oct. 30. Then it expires.

If you liked "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" then this may be your cup of tea.
