Looking forward to this....

The Yorkshire Dales are stunning - one of my favourite parts of the country. The Ribblehead Viaduct is awe-inspiring, but it's sobering to think that 100 poor souls died in it's construction.

I've never been there, but I am interested to see this. I just hope its good, as ITV can be iffy sometimes with new dramas ...

This looks like an English "hell on wheels" but I like it and what to see more

reply

Well, it's not what I expected! Lightweight and a bit clichéd, but it's enjoyable enough.

I'll keep watching.

Hi Supergran! 

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I enjoyed the first episode and will keep watching. 

Hi Laura! 

It's different, isn't it? I've never seen this setting in a British drama before (although my memory is shocking these days).

Hope you're well and take care. 

No me neither.

I'm well, hope you are too. 

I've just watched the first four episodes in two days, and it looks more and more like a Western! Fascinating. And I love how everyone gets to be the baddie for one episode. Just now he was a nice guy, and now he isn't. Still waiting for the lowdown on Johnny Blackwood...

Exactly what I'm thinking, supergran. And the eye candy isn't bad either. 😉

I'm really enjoying it too, and also can't help comparing it to Western movies my dad used to make us watch all the time.

I'm lucky to live in Lancashire where we have mini aqueducts, so I can appreciate them.

It is extremely sad how many people died constructing major pieces around the UK in the Victorian age, Blackpool Tower to name but one other.

My partner and I are really liking this drama.

Our opinion we are finding it intriguing with all the secrets that the characters have, to name but two so far:-

Annie Q – what is she hiding regarding her dead husband?

Mr Coates – what was behind him getting Red to blow up the drilling (or did we miss something here)

Look upward... and share the wonders I have seen, John Crichton, Farscape

reply

He got Red to sabotage so that the guy in charge would be exposed as ineffective, and Coates would be asked to replace him.
