From CBS-All-Access ( Commercial-Free not really Commerical-Free ) WTF???

I signed up for the CBS-Commercial-Free subscription at $9.99 per month and went online to watch the first two episodes. As I was watching them I kept getting commercials during the shows ... both episodes.

I thought there must be a problem with my subscription so I went to Apple first since it was on Apple TV, and then I went to CBS-All-Access. That was over a week ago.

Apple at least, had online support and offered to cancel my subscription, which I finally accepted after trying to get support for this from CBS.

Now a week later after that, today I got this email from CBS support explaining how Commercial-Free doesn't really mean Commercial-Free? Read this.

Even our biggest corporations now feel free to lie about anything. CBS tells me that after offering a Commercial-Free subscription for almost double what basic access costs, subscribers still get commercials. Wow, I could not believe it.

I think everyone should boycott CBS in everything for being a psychopathic corporation who cheats people and is dishonest. But this is not really Star Trek either so they lied about that too, what a fake, horrible show.

Actually I looked into the commercial free version before getting the regular one.

The reason I did not get the commercial free version was because I saw the documentation about the promotions for certain shows.

I do not know why you didn't see it but they did not lie about it either.

If you want to claim the lie was the "commercial free" claim, well depending on the promotion it is not considered a commercial. I do not know what the promotions were but if they were for other shows on the network I do not believe they count as a commercial because CBS is not receiving money from an outside source to air them.

Maybe CBS takes that money and hires stooges like you to defend them online with more lies. Commercial-Free means Commercial-Free ... ask Amazon, NetFlix, HBO, Showtime, etc. Your stupidity makes me puke.

I have the "Limited Commercials" option and just wanted to check to see if I was mistaken.

There is a button on my account page that say "go Commercial Free", so I clicked it.

In the choice of options it said the following:

Limited Commercials
$59.99 A year

Commercial Free
$99.99 A year
[bold]Live TV includes commercials and select shows have promotional interruptions.[/bold]

To me that says even if I am buying the "commercial free" package I will get commercials when streaming live and promotional interruptions on certain shows. I would have presumed Star Trek:Discovery was more likely to have it than The Brady Bunch. I concluded that this applied to the "commercial Free" version because
1) The note was under the "Commercial Free" price
2) There would be no reason to apply it to the "Limited commercials" option as both commercials
and promotions would be expected.

If you want to be mad about it, be mad about it, cancel as you have done. But, please, do not indicate that my stupidity would make you puke when your inability to read something and comprehend what you read is the problem.

I read it and decided not to buy the commercial free version you did not and bought it.

Besides being stupid you are an ahole. I subscribed on AppleTV. If there was a warning I did not see it, and besides, whatever the fine-print says COMMERCIAL FREE MEANS NO COMMERCIALS. If a food says no preservatives, when you read the fine print on the label it should not say there are preservatives. Get lost and go make you own post to explain how much you agree or love this policy somewhere else, no one buys it here ditship.

I actually agree with you that commercial free SHOULD BE commercial free but that is not how the world works anymore. I was trying to explain to you why they can get away with that phrasing. Unlimited data for phones SHOULD BE unlimited data and not get X number of GB at one speed and the rest at a slower speed.

I personally hate how people misuse the term reboot. A reboot of a franchise SHOULD BE a clean slate with all previous continuity ignored and not a sequel, a prequel or a revival of a series with the same people involved but unfortunately so many people have gotten that word wrong there is no chance to get the word back.

As far as your two rude responses to me, I replied to your original post with information. You in turn call me stupid and accuse me of being a CBS Shill. I pointed out specifically where I read the actual information about the package. Maybe I was a little snarky but your initial response to me did not endear me to you. For that I apologize.

You are now still calling me stupid, although I showed where my information came from. You call me an ahole when your intial reaction to me had ahole written all over it.

Then go away, you have an idiosyncratic annoying way to look at things that does not endear you to anyone.

And unlimited data does not say at what speed, so that is not a really outright lie.

I don't think you parse the English language like the rest of us. If you agree with me, just agree and move on.

Yeah that was one of the things I noticed when I had it originally, its obvious the live shows would have commercial, since its being streamed live however it should not be called Commercial Free if there are any breaks in the shows for commercials or promotions. While they do tell you about the commercials and promotion the name of the package is misleading. Given that All Access doesn't have near enough worthwhile content to pay for I got rid of it fairly quickly.

I wonder if they are going to combat the people that will try and binge star trek with a free trial or one month subscription by limiting the episodes it leaves avail to stream. If you have noticed, some of there current shows do not keep the full season available. I noticed this with one of the NCIS' last year and criminal minds usually only saving the last 4 or 5 eps.
