The anticipated series will set up shop in Ballroom 20 on Saturday, July 22 for a no-holds-barred panel from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m., and on Monday, it was revealed which members of the ensemble cast and creative team will take part. Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, Mary Wiseman, Anthony Rapp and James Frain will make tout their new show, alongside executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Gretchen J. Berg, Aaron Harberts, Heather Kadin and Akiva Goldsman. The panel will be moderated by guest star Rainn Wilson, who will appear as Harry Mudd, the charismatic conman and intergalactic criminal who was first introduced in the original Star Trek TV series.share
On Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22, fans can take part in the #TrekDiscovery Challenge throughout San Diego, where they will come across costumed Trek ambassadors represnting the first five Star Trek TV series. Fans can participate by taking selfies with the ambassadors with the hashtag on Twitter or Instagram, and could win a Roku streaming stick and a CBS All Access subscription.
