just one person walking out with the full necklace as she's barfing. you cut it up and do handoffs in public and implicate every single person.. thats smart...
and instead of getting literally anyone else in the group to plant the diamond on that guy./.. you risk it on the one lady he knows.... smart...
Half the women there were wearing huge diamonds, so they could all walk out wraring chunks of the stolen neckband without attracting notice.
Of course that doesn't explain how they got the rest of the stolen stuff out...
or just out the back., we are shown one lady back up a truck to a rear loading bay. why not have Mindy's character simply walk out the back and get in the truck and leave. the search they drop when they realize its missing isn't excalty a closure of multiple city blocks, its simply inside.
I guess the "logic" was if they didnt replace it with the fake one all the women left there would have been rounded up and questioned on the spot... maybe.. but also maybe not.
I also think it would have been better if James Corden character was introduced earlier. part of the initial arrest of Sandra Bullock. being sympathetic and knowing she was duped but not being able to do anything because the guy had set her up. It would give us some believability of why he was nicer to her
I think you gave more serious thought to the getaway than the film's writers did!
I think the film's writers were more concerned with getting the main characters into fabulous designer gowns than to make sense of everyone's actions.
