Was the captain always gay?
I don't remember any mention of it before?
Now he's having relationship problems with his "partner" (s03e09) and has adopted effeminate mannerisms that he didn't have before.

Yup. He's always been a gay for sure.
shareI don't remember it coming up in the first two seasons?
I don't recall him acting gay like he did in this episode. Maybe it's because he was at a party and could let it out?
Really weak episode too. The first few episodes of this third season were better than I thought they would be without Riggs, so I kept watching. But it's starting to feel played out, and I'm tired of so much focus on Murtaugh's boring home drama. It's kind of become the Murtaugh show. There might have been 10 minutes of cop action show in this latest 42 minute episode.
I don't recall if it was directly addressed but it certainly seemed like there was heavy implication. Stuff like those wild ties etc. Obviously he was never one of those raging ones, just a regular dude that was gay.
I've not watched S3 so can't compare. It wouldn't surprise me if they've ramped up the gayness for Internet points from plebeian critics that think that sort of shit is important.
Ironic they've focusing on Murtaugh and his boring family considering he's gone after this season. That stupid fuck killed the show.
What? He wasn't gay in the movie, and the Captain had more focus in Lethal Weapon 3 (1992).
Damn, why do networks have to please the PC crowd? Not that this show looked interesting from the beginning, but they tarnish the characters by altering what they were presented as on the big screen.
The captain was definitely gay from the beginning. He refers to his partner, Todd a few times throughout the first two seasons. And I do believe there is a picture of him on the captains desk...
