Make Murtaugh white and Riggs black?

Have an older seasoned detective who was born in the late 60's paired up with an early 90's erratic cop.

The elder having fought in both operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and the younger having served and recently returned from the Anbar campaign.

Bring the differences in how the world has changed since each of their youths' and how crime and war hasn't as an afterthought.

Add some mania, plenty of comedy and some cool stunts and explosions and you've got a remade, and potentially better, Lethal Weapon TV series.

It's just a switcheroo of the original formula allowing things to be re-explored afresh and anew.
