I'm seeing a test screening of this on Wednesday
I don't think I'll be able to share my thoughts on the film, but I'm hella excited.

shareThe shooting was wrapped 16 days ago, they couldn't paste together a movie for such a short time. If only they didn't edit it right alongside the filming, which is a terrible idea.

Well, that's what's happening. https://1iota.com/Show/567/Movie-Screening---Annabelle-2

It's not uncommon for films to be edited on the spot these days in the digital age. Now, by edited I don't mean full of sound effects, a score, or even color corrected. But, there is usually an editor on the spot putting the dailies together in chronological order so that there is a rough cut of the film that is completed (or being worked towards being completed at all times).
Yes, filming wrapped just a while ago (not 16 days, though... it wrapped on August 16), but it really is not time constraining to put together a rough assembly cut of a film. What this version of the film is going to be is a version that is not properly color corrected, has no VFX shots completed, has temporary sound FX, and has a temporary score. If you've ever been to a few test screenings, you've definitely witnessed a version of a film like this before. It's a pretty bizarre experience.
If you watch the alternate ending of Dead Silence, it's pretty much what an early test screening of a film is like. There are some completed VFX, the editing is kind of hokey, and anything that isn't complete is labeled for the audience (and further editors) to see. Really, the whole purpose of these types of screenings is for one goal: to see if there is anything story wise that needs to be changed before it's too late. They're trying to get really early audience feedback -- most likely due to how poorly the first film was received -- in order to see if they need to go back and reshoot anything.
Well, thanks for an explanation. That's what I was actually thinking. Because the fact that they're really organizing this test screening is truthful, cause the source is listed, I thought that the only option possible is a rough-rough cut. The only thing I'm concerned about on this type of early test screening is that all this technical gaps and imperfections can affect people's opinion even if the story is great, but I guess this people are really concentrating their attention on the plot and general look of the film.

Yeah, I agree with your last point and it's definitely true to a degree. Watching a movie at such an early stage can really skew an audience member's view of it. I understand WHY the studios feel the need to do it, but it also can be pretty counter-productive. I mean, they stress beforehand that it's a very rough cut of the film, but still. Viewing a movie that's basically a work in progress can be very hard to give pointers on if you're just a average movie-goer, you know? Alas... these screenings will never end. It's just how Hollywood operates!
sharetell us what you think about the movie without spoilers if you're able to.
shareYou guys may or may not be in for one hell of a fvcking treat ;) And a certain unreleased film may or may not have looked (surprisingly) extremely polished and ready to be released.
shareSounds like you really enjoyed the film! Were you a fan of the first, or The Conjuring series for that matter?
shareI really enjoyed the first Conjuring and absolutely loved The Conjuring 2, but I didn't really care for the first Annabelle.
shareI don't really want to be spoiled, but my only question I have is do they find a smart way to connect this sequel to the original? Because this film takes place BEFORE the first Annabelle, if I'm not mistaken, and it's only in the first film that we see how the doll become a conduit for an evil spirit. Do they address that in this film? I'm pretty confused about that part.
