So why are ghost movies even popular ? Is it insidious effect ?

It all started out with insidious ?

like wow mmorph spamming expansions, the first insidious which was actually
good turn into insidious 1,2,3. with an expansion called conjuring 1,2.
and another expansion on an expansion, Annabelle. trying to cover every single haunted objects in the exorcists collection room.lol

I know insidious 1 was good but everything else it layed eggs and got spawned were
all bad. insidious 2,3,conjuring1,2 , annabelle 1

They are even planning to make insidious 4 and annabelle 2.

This means conjuring 3 is 100% confirmed with lot of chances of cloudy
messballs of more trashpansions.

(untitled haunted object 1 from insidious)
eventually getting named as "The Violin" an haunted violin that makes people's
brain messed and bad spirits to gather to that place. etc

I mean all we see is

crosses moving opposite to make a *beep* you or whatever.
doors automatically closing.
people on bed gets dragged after getting the blanket moved gently then
all at once,and the body.
people floating

It's so fakish and not scary. Also not to mention not entertaining
in any comedy or adventure or drama or fantasy, sci fi or any other documentary
way whatsoever.
I always end up yawning after seeing wind blowing with the ghost rawring
and saying "go away bad spirit" or whatever. Just wishing this would end soon.

The scary ghost movies would be 1408 or Dead End 2003.
These actually make you care what happens because it is scary.

Not some human showing cross and talking go away bad spirit or
going into spirit form with some amusement park red, blue lights in the same place.

I would argue that the ghost movie crazy started a bit earlier with films like the grudge and ring. ever since we've had countless sequels from paranormal activity . insidious. conjuring. Annabelle. etc theres also an insidious chapter 4 hitting theatres this October. the paranormal genre and the zombie genre are two of the only genres left in horror that haven't fallen victim to the twilight romance like the vampires. and werewolves have

Actually if you like horror films you will agree that it doesn't take much to please us so when horror films get released that are connected then we're chomping at the bit.collector and collection was a nice suprise for me.characters coming back in sequels is what we love aswell, even if they get killed off like grudge,it doesn't matter.take wishmaster for example,1 and 2 had Andrew divoff then 3 and 4 we don't care for because he wasn't in it,plus they were naff.so basically if horrors are connected some way then we love it.
