No they are equally vile.
Hazel didn't want to take responsibility for her part in Lesley and Trevor's murders but Colin was the one who came up with the idea, planned it, carried it out and has shown no more remorse for his heinous crimes than Hazel has. Colin would have taken the secret to the grave if he hadn't lost his eldest son and gone bankrupt. He only came clean because he thought God was "punishing" him. It was all about him and never about the two innocent people he murdered in cold blood.
