Where was Amy? (spoilers I guess)
Did I miss her or was she not in the finale? I know she's a "normal", but still I would've liked to see a bit of her in the episode.

shareI wondered that too! I had forgotten about her after they escaped from David's childhood bedroom, but IF that was real and not astral, then she should have been there with them. Where was she in the scene when Clark & his minions showed up?
shareThe last time I remember seeing her was inside Summerland when she wanted to contact her husband. But she must have been around there somewhere for all that went down. It's weird that she wasn't shown.
shareRight?! I had forgotten about her till it was all over and I was thinking about everything and just was like....wait, there's someone missing...oh yeah Amy!
I find it hard to believe she'd had just been able to go home after that. She could've been inside Summerland, but when all that went down she surely would've known and been involved somehow. The fact that she just up and disappeared without a mention is very odd. She goes through all of that, has that big revelation and witnessing of her brother's powers and then...peaces out? So strange and I would've thought she would have been important enough to at least include one scene or even moment with her.
I mean, I'd hate to dig the theory well even deeper, but there has to be something up with that, no? Could it have purely been an economical decision considering all the other things they had to get to? Hmmm....
There should be something more there. I mean, even if they didn't give her any lines, she could've been just standing around in the background. If they sent her away, I don't remember them showing it. Or maybe we're to assume she's locked away safe somewhere in Summerland. Agh, another thing to wait for in the next season.
shareIt would kind of be hilarious if she happened to go for a walk or something during David's experiment/Summerland breakdown...and then walked back in right after like, "what the fuuuuu??" Because after that, when we see Syd and David talking in the post credits all seemed somewhat calm, considering (and of course before he got zapped away, hah).
So, I suppose there's a teensy bit of leeway where we could explain off her absence, but it seems awfully remiss or suspicious to not include his own sister in things, especially after all they've been through. It still just seems quite odd to me....and leads me down the theory well still as well.
I just imagine her walking in the base after a walk "So guys, what did I miss ?" lol
They don't have to show us (or explain) every tiny thing that's going on, but she's been involved in most events so far, so her missing from the finale is very odd to me as well.
Sure, they don't need to go into the minuscule details, but I feel she was a big enough and important enough character that she would've been included in the finale. She confessed David's adoption to him, was shown all DYEs proxies, almost got shot at/almost witnessed her brother get murdered, then got forced into an astral plane hospital projection by a rogue parasite, and got to see some extent of her brother's awesome powers....you don't just let someone go after that, haha, ya know?
What do you think it could be indicative of if not just a sacrifice the writers/Hawley had to make?
Although, I do love the idea of her just mindlessly taking in the Summerland area to come back to find all that went down, lol. Just when she was done processing one thing, onto the next....
Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe after I re-watch it, I'll formulate some sort of theory about her absence.
shareWow I totally forgot about her. It is odd she wasn't in the finale, I'll have to re-watch the last scenes she was in. I'm also wondering if Dr. Kissinger is dead, since they left him in the room he was being held captive in.
shareShe wasn't really important for the story, so they decided to cut her off.
Not that anyone missed her anyways. (EDIT: Well, besides you, of course)
I think you nailed it, beto.

She might not have been important to the stuff they included in the finale, but she is to the overall story. By now, regardless of her close personal ties to the lead character....she also just has a wealth of valuable information. She knows about David, Summerland, probably its location, that their are more mutants there, the astral plane, DYE, there are people after him/them throwing them into some kind of fight and/or war.
It's just insanely stupid of them to let her go or she could end up kidnapped all over again or even blab about it. She is an important asset to them now, whether they like it or not, purely based off of all she knows and has seen (I also find it hard to believe, given their relationship, that David would just let her walk off).
I understand though, that in the context of what the finale wanted to get to, things had to be cut or thrown into the background. As long as they deal with her somehow in the coming season! Alls, I'm saying.
As I understand it, an asset would give them information not suck them off, so she's more like a burden on them...
Maybe that changes in the next season, though.
