Scientology's methods for how they handle criticisms and investigative journalists are far more damning than the criticisms themselves.

Scientologists are clearly not equipped to deal with the Age of Information, when everyone has a camera phone and can record and then post whatever they want to post on social media right after it happens, for all the world to see. The critics aren't to blame for the nosedive that Scientology's reputation is experiencing; how Scientologists handle the criticisms is the problem. Duh.

ya, they never figured on the internets
and in fact, the stuff that is on youtube is so much better than going clear or this gigantic waste of time
except for clearwater, which is basically owned by the cult, almost all of the orgs are empty and they are bleeding money
they now have to reprint material with new covers to try and scam cult members into believing there is something above ot 8...its like an online game that has run out of ideas and has gamers running the exact same quests...with different labels...one giant real life game of wow
louis set up close to the celeb center, but never took a stroll by it? its a frickin ghost town.
but how critics are handled is from hubbard's handbook...and the scions are too stupid to change

I imagine that trying to dig your feet in as a religion is simply an exercise in futility when you don't have the fog of history or the [lack of] spread of information to create the unfalsifiable mysticism that religions tend to lean on.
