Masterpiece.
Emotional, unique, different, uncomfortable. A masterpiece. Regardless of any religious or political beliefs.

sharethe artist as self-absorbed Creator with replaceable muse
shareAh, nice description.
shareMother! has its problems but when you realize what he's up to it's a fun ride.
shareI think I had an idea of what might have been going on but wasn't married to it as I watched the movie. The mystery, thrill, and suspense made it more enjoyable.
shareHis idea isn't new, of course, and if you rewatch you'll see those places where he makes things pretty clear I think
I've seen 4 or 5 of his films and pretty much liked them all
Still haven't seen Requiem but I'll get to it
This was my interpretation the whole time. Each muse is different....births something new.
shareAbsolutely. This is like one of those films that were panned and bombed at the time but then later, they go on to become cult classics. Like The Thing.
shareInterestingly, I never understood the hate for it, I loved it the first time I watched it about the time it came out. The Thing is also pretty great.
shareI certainly understood the hate for it, as it's not designed for mass acceptance. But I thought it was fantastic to watch. The sheer chaos of it and how it was captured on screen was great.
sharei liked it only because it was the closest movie i've seen in a long time resembling a Luis Buñuel piece.
however i found the final 1/4 pretty boring and tedious to watch..
still pretty good.
