When Ruth was outed, and everyone was panicking and sad. Was Wendy worried for Ruth? Or, is she worried about her own family? After Ruth, are they Byrde family next to be whacked? What was that unspoken option that Wendy and Marty seem to agree on, that prompted Wendy to say, "I'm afraid of losing you."

You want me to say it... as in "Ruth is toast." Is that what Marty meant? I'm trying to make sense of this ending where Wendy looked like a human for once, which is not normal. LOL! Why did she care so much for Ruth in the end?
I think when Ruth apologized to Wendy at the mental hospital, and Wendy apologized to Ruth and then to the children, that was Wendy's chance at redemption. It seemed like Wendy was going to take that chance, since she told the children that she wanted them to be free to leave, and it seemed like she had reconciled with Ruth. But when they found out that Ruth was going to be executed, and that the cartel woman had them backed into a corner, Wendy realized that it was either Ruth would be killed or they would all be killed themselves. So I think Wendy truly felt sad there, because she realized there would never be lasting redemption for her because there's nothing she wouldn't do to keep her family together. But she chose to let Ruth be killed and accepted that she would basically be evil forever.
shareI don't think Wendy cared about Ruth at all. Ruth was trying to destroy the Byrdes for most of season four. Wendy was probably more concerned about her family and her foundation. The Byrdes lied to Camila about her son's death so I suspect they will be taken out when/if they are no longer useful to Camila and the cartel.
shareYeah, that didn't feel like any type of conclusion. They could go another season if they wanted to. Basically, they don't get out. They are forever caught in Dante's Inferno type theme.
shareYes I think Wendy felt sorry for Ruth. Ruth had Wendy's kids' back, but yet was still going to die in the end. But I'm sure that "survivor's guilt" didn't last long. How could Ruth knock off a Cartel and think she wasn't going to pay?
I think it's unrealistic that Ruth would stay in town, or even return to town, after what she did in Chicago.
I dont have as much confidence in Wendys character suddenly having a heart. IMO, Wendy is probably afraid that Marty (being Marty) is going to try and save Ruth. That would put Wendy and her familys lives at risk. Anyone else is just collateral damage to Wendy.
