Really well done. Story, dialogue and acting all very good. Cinematography and editing were excellent. Really, a piece of poetry.

While I'm not this movie's biggest fan, I really liked its approach to sound and image and its complete devotion to them, as opposed to having the narrative rule everything. This approach resulted in a somewhat abstract and immersive experience.

Having said this, this movie's aesthetics are entirely its own and have nothing, literally NOTHING in common with either Kubrick or Lynch who, by the way, also have nothing in common with each other (ok, they're both American).

You read like someone that lazily lumps them together (and this movie, by extent) just because of their perceived "unclassifiable-ness", if not the case, could you explain??
