That was the first thing that I thought too, particularly as I was watching the opening scene. The aesthetics of the film are quite similar to Her most of the time, although it's obvious that this is a lower-budget film (nothing against that).
Although the OP has now posted and said that isn't what he was referring to, I also thought of Her as I was watching it. Aesthetics felt very different to me (overall feel wasn't anywhere near as bleak and futuristic), but as though the writer/s had seen Her and were inspired to take a story in a different direction, and set it in current time.
I liked it. Not as much as I liked Her, but it was well worth the time I spent watching.
