MASSIVE Plot Hole Concerning House Lighting Situation...
So the first key scene in the film occurs when Chris comes back into the house after sneaking a cigarette 🚬 (actually, is that a second plot hole? Will come back to that...) and is walking past the aging Catherine Keener who is revealed to be sitting in the dark until she switched on her reading table lamp...
Only thing is - We see the entire room light up like Blackpool illuminations!!!
How is this even possible? I counted at least four floor lamps which turned on at this switching on of the reading lamp.
I do not believe this to be possible. To be very clear, we are not talking smart lighting here. We see her quite literally click the light switch on.
I appreciate the term "plot hole" is somewhat overused but shall we ever see a clearer example of one in cinematic history? I'm not sure...
And as an aside - Going back to that second plot hole I mentioned above, Chris is a smoker. Therefore why would he have been selected as a top physically fit specimen for the procedure? Seems like another candidate would have been preferable.
