My thoughts (spoilers)

I just got finished watching this, and overall I like it, though I must say it rarely seemed like horror, which I'd chalk up to it being a high production, modern movie, and, of course, them going for the mystery elements.

I'm not sure if I like the idea of the transplanting more than the original, guessed idea of the black people being hypnotized, but I think it works better as a surprise, and does shed light on interesting interactions like the black "groundskeeper" hugging one of the older white guys that got out of the cars before the meeting.

I think the girlfriend made a great sociopath, so that was fun. I also mostly enjoyed the family and the tone of the movie, where it just wasn't quite clear what was up, and I can see how all of it would be completely unnerving yet also subtle enough where the guy had no idea what was going on.

Overall, I like it, and while it's one of the most modern non-horror horror movie I've seen, I think it works well, and I for one am happy about the quasi-happy ending. Bleak endings are fine, bit they can get depressing if every movie ends like that.

I enjoyed it.. I'm not good with horror films so for me, this struck the right level. I guessed what was going on fairly early on (hypnotising/transplant didn't really make much difference in my books) but I still found it good. I also enjoyed the comic relief element with Chris' friend.

Well, I mean, it makes difference enough to the family, as I'm sure they'd much rather have their older relatives back in younger bodies over just having modern day slaves who wouldn't question anything (the more and more I think about it, the more annoyed with myself about not thinking there'd be a twist, when obviously that couldn't have been all it was).

I liked Chris' friend enough and the comedy relief, but he did what I always see in other media and went too far when talking to the police. It's very simple: a man who is currently missing has been located under odd circumstances, here's a picture, could you look into it? For all I know it's actually more realistic to try to explain everything in a case like that, no matter if it makes you sound insane, but if you're going that route, at least admit from the beginning that you know it'll sound unbelievable. I don't know, that scene really annoyed me, but yeah, I enjoyed the rest of the scenes he was in.
