...the black guy being abducted in the beginning. Is this to say they are just randomly abducting black guys off the street and not just through Rose's boyfriends?

reply

I think it's to imply they're brought to the house like Chris, but they're abdicated in different ways. Sometimes Rose lures them outside the house so Jeremy can put on his gear, other times she blatantly leaves her closet door open so her boyfriend/girlfriends can find the photos and fuck with them. I think it depends on how close they are to figuring what's going on. If they're like Chris, everyone gathers around him and makes sure he can't get out. If it's like Andre, Rose and Jeremy are allowed to have some fun with no worry to him figuring out the plan.

It was later said that the brother's m.o. of finding victims was a whole lot different from Rose's (can't remember the exact wording). At that point it gets clear that the abductor in the opening scene was the brother.

Plus, the black guy is Andre Hayworth/Logan.

Yea, it was definitely the brother in the opening scene. Near the end of the movie Chris takes Jeremy's car to escape and we see it's the same car from the beginning of the movie. Also in the front seat you can see the mask Jeremy wore earlier to capture Andre Hayworth/Logan.

... not to mention that goofy whiter-than-white Flanagan and Allen music

The giveaway for me was when they were at the dinner table and the brother wanted to show the boyfriend a fighting move, then another family member said he was going to do a headlock. Right then I knew the opening scene was done by the brother.

To illustrate Jeremy's tough side even further.

"I hear Jeremy's wrangling methods are tougher" or whatever the line is.
