how people went around committing assault and other crimes in plain sight of other people, and no one gets arrested. You can go around kicking school kids in the crotch in this place, and nothing happens. The one person who does get arrested at some point is that woman who had a couple of joints.

shareI was surprised that the schoolkids thing never came back at her, but other crimes got followed up on. She was brought in for the dentist drill thing, that was explained in the movie.
Dixon was fired for his savage beatdown of the ad people. The rest of the movie takes place over very little time, so if charges were going to be pressed remained to be seen, I think.
There's the vandalism in the shop - I doubt Mildred pursued that. There are two crimes of arson, which have no eyewitnesses (who are willing to press charges). There's the barfight, which we see the ramifications of in the film.
Other than the school kid crotch kicks, what never got addressed?
