Everything and everyone in this movie is extreme!

Their actions are extreme. Their motivations are extreme. Their reactions are extreme.

Don't like some billboards? Burn then down!
Don't like some police stations? Burn them down!
Don't like some mean students? Kick their crotches!
Don't like black people? Torture them (but don't get caught!)
Don't like white people? Throw them out of the window!
Don't like getting cancer? Blow your head off!
Don't like some souvenirs? Throw them to the cashier! And tell her you might be her daughter's rapist! And not paying the $7!

So extreme!

Pretty bizarre town.

And you can do these things without getting arrested. Even if you do it in plain sight of other people.

Not as weird as twin peaks, but still pretty wild.

They just man up!

LOL your post cracked me up! Especially the $7 bucks!

I love Frances McDormand, shes excellent...but the film wasnt credible enough for me. I like darker films, especially with the subject at hand, and it just couldve been sooooo much better had the writers delve deeper, without the comedy. This didnt need comedy, especially in the beginning of the film. Yes, it got serious after the Captain killed himself, but then all the rest you mentioned above happened..Although you really did make me laugh, so theres that.
