Only 4 eps? Coulda made 10

Love, love, love the show. I expected it to be amusing, but not a non-stop laughfest.

I'm deeply disappointed there are just 4 eps because well, that's just 4 eps! But even moreso because they had enough material to make 10 eps easily. The show feels quite rushed. 30 days of travel and they are only showing us 3 hours of footage, including B-roll. LOL. Come on.

I need more!

I don't think they expected it to do much in the ratings. They should renew it and make 10 episodes for season 2.

reply

They had to have all 4 together. That means all their schedules had to line up. Hopefully it's renewed right away, & they can make more episodes for next season. Now the question is: where do we want them to go?

I agree. I LOVE William Shatner and Asian Culture, so this show had much promise for me, but I was prepared to be disappointed. I was not only not let down, but I was blown away by how funny the show was, while highlighting the amazing uniqueness of the Asian experience for travelers. A+++.

We haven't seen the Thailand episode yet but they seemed to have had a good time with the K-girls in Korea.

I'm a little disappointed that they aren't going to feature the PHILIPPINES!

Get them outside of the 4-star hotels and fancy restaurants in Manila or Cebu City and that episode would be mind numbingly stupid!

Have them walking around the REAL streets of Manila or some outlying berg/village where people still kill their animal harvest. Have them eat the nastiest thing on the planet "balut" (half fermented duck eggs). Have them go to this place I know on Cebu Island that features numerous waterfalls. Maybe have them ride carabaos or go out with some guy fishing. How much of a trip would that be?

I've spent my fair share of time in the PI and have had the opportunities many times to enjoy the fruits of "Adult Disneyland"! Four old dudes at the end of their lives acting like children would be so cool since they would be lost in every respect!

If there's a way to screw something up, the "O'Commie regime" will find it EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Only 134 more days left!

I think the original plan was 10 episodes, but that would've killed half the elderly cast..... They needed to pace themselves

AMEN, whjones!!

Can't wait for that arrogant, lying, Marxist bastard to be OUT of the white house!

Did anyone actually READ my post? LOL

I didn't say that should do 2-1/2 times more stuff. I said that there is surely enough footage from their trip that they could have made 10 episodes out of it instead of just 4. They are cramming too much stuff into too little airtime.

I'll type slowly for those who didn't get that the first two times...

Using... the... same... footage... they... got... from... their... trip... they... could... have... made... 10... episodes... out... of... it... instead... of... just... 4.

reply

Maybe ( hopefully) they will make a 5th episode of unseen footage/deleted scenes. Sometimes they do that for reality shows.

reply

I'm not sure if people want to see deleted scenes of these senior citizens getting stomach issues, taking calls from their suspicious and nagging wives to check up on them, making sure they don't hook up w/fast girls, and talking about the various kinds of medicines that have to remember to take.....

well, maybe the calls from their wives might be funny.....

So you think that in a 5-week trip with the cameras rolling 24/7 they could only come up with about 3 hours of stuff worth watching?

reply

A five week trip could've had more material on TV if these grandpas had tried to pursue extramarital affairs , this would've made ratings double!!!!!!!!

reply

Ah ha! Maybe that's it. These guys spent so much time screwing around out there, this was the only remaining film left they could show on TV. Now it makes sense! LOL
