From what I've read in reviews so far I really struggle to see what's so great and special about this movie. I suppose Nolanites are rating so highly because 'it's Nolan'.
While I don't count myself a Nolanite I do understand their ardor. He is the real deal. I just hope he gets these summer blockbusters out of his system soon and goes back to doing something on a smaller scale like "Memento." Or "Insomnia." Hitchcock would have loved those films. If he's still got it in him I'd love to see Nolan do a small, intimate affair like Hitchcock's "Rope" or "Rear Window." Or, maybe instead of Fincher and his gang remaking "Strangers on a Train" it could be Nolan. What a welcome change of pace that would be.
You might see something remotely close happen. Chances are higher if you're younger than Nolan though, because he'll be stuck with overblown crap like Blockbusterman and Intercellar for some years to come.
