Anachronisms?
There seems to be a ton of terminology that I never heard of until the last decade. Maybe I'm just way behind.............And, I didn't know anybody with an answering machine until well into the 80s. 1971 - I never heard of one.
shareThe Rockford files intro featured an answering machine in 1974...yeah they existed...not common,but existed. Didn't notice any terms out of place...I'll pay closer attention next time.

shareThere's a difference between an answering machine in a place of business and one in the home. For businesses it was possible, but for homes, very unlikely.
