Comes off as a play

I'm sure not many people who watch this show watch Girl Meets World also, but they are acted in a similar fashion. It doesn't really flow like a typical sitcom. It's more like watching a decent high school play where they hit their mark, say their line, next person says their punch line and moves to next mark. I'm not saying it's bad, just different.

YES! There's been something really "off" about this show compared to the other shows I watch and love. (And I do really like this show.) I think you've nailed it. It's very much like a stage play. Even (or perhaps especially) the staging of indoor scenes. I agree that it's not good or bad, but it helps to have it identified.
