Can't decide what this show is

So a lot of the time this show comes off as a meaningless fluff comedy, but it deals with some serious drama sometime.

Maybe the father/son/brother dynamic is interesting to me...but it feels pretty serious and dark at times, mainly any of the characters relationships with Beau.

On that point it feels like they amped up the *beep* level with Beau, and possibly the f bombs in the second season. Maybe it's just my memory, but the first season he seemed more like a hard ass and now he just seems like an ass. Perhaps my memory faded from season 1 though.

It's also hard for me to accept the actors, except Sam, in their roles. I realize it's acting, but I would just never have imagined them in these types of parts...they have such...LA personas in my mind.

On the issue of the f bombs, it feels like they rely on the word a lot. I feel like they could use a little more of a variety of words/colorful language. It doesn't offend me, it just doesn't always feel like it flows naturally or something.

That said, I like the show overall, and think it could be a lot more than just a sitcom, or just a drama.
