Probably slightly offensive to rural USA but not actually that bad

I watched the first ten episodes as it was handy for a binge watch, nothing bad nothing good. However, season 2 isn't too bad.

I think the Netflix idea of releasing a season in one go just works, there is no way I would watch this week to week, however, it's a good watch one after the other, it just works.

Keep it up Netflix, their original programming is getting better and better :)

Having grown up and still residing in rural America, I can say with certainty that this show is not in any way offensive to rural America.

The show MIGHT play on some stereo types of rural America, but in no way is it offensive; there's a lot of drinking going on in the show, which could be considered being overdone, but then again, drinking is legal and it's a way for a lot of farmers, ranchers, etc., to let off some steam. Personally, I'd go for weed, but again, drinking is legal and of course folks are gonna do that, drink, not smoke, but sure some will do both probably.

I agree that I wouldn't watch this on network television, as I consider it "fluff". If this was on network tv, this is the show I'd switch to when the other show I'm watching is on commercial break; his name escapes me at the moment, but I do love the dad (that voice), and seeing Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson again is enough nostalgia to get me thru the show.

I have grown up as well in Missouri on a farm. Most people I know drink nightly. Though some of my friends smoke, but they are not farmers. As you said drinking is legal and common.

Don't forget, Wilmer shows up in the second half of season 2, so it's closer and close to a full scale reunion! Need Red to show up as the rival rancher that Hyde is working at with Fez.

Was bailing hay by first grade, and I don't find it offensive at all. Actually appreciate how they take the safety bumpers off and portray most of the characters in a straight unflinching way. From the old veterinarian to the scruffy bar fly, I know all of these people. Grew up with them. It's a great vacation from the average sitcom, chock full of east or west coast stereotypes I have absolutely nothing in common with.
