I have my theories, wondering what others thought. I wanted to really like this, maybe you have an explanation that will make me like it more than I did.

My take of it is the site is satanic, represented by the ram's horn. Then the cave at the end is the gateway to hell.
All the rest is just build up to having their soles stolen.

I also thought that the 'acid' she threw at him was actually holy water.

I like ambiguous films like this. Gets your brain working overtime 👍
