Go ahead, let me have it, but I found the story and the characters very boring. Kept waiting for this movie to get off the ground. Never quite did for me.

This movie was beyond boring. A very slow paced talk-a-thon that did nothing but reinforce negative racial stereotypes and play the Gay victim card. The story lines of the drug dealer, his girlfriend and the crackhead mother were wasted.
You did read the widely publicized account that it is a movie "about a young black man finding himself as he grows up and coming to terms with his sexuality". That's pretty much what it was. Did you know that and still think it wasn't that?
shareThe dialog (or lack of it) never really developed the story or the characters. It got to a point where you wanted to pull the words out of the actors mouths' and say "let's go already with this movie!"
shareThis was EXACTLY it for me! There was some other movie I saw not too long ago where the main character would not talk when spoken to, etc. and it drove me nuts. This felt like a replay!
