Does Mahershala Ali still have a shot at the Oscars?
Or will the corrupt hack Weinstein will ensure that he loses?
shareOr will the corrupt hack Weinstein will ensure that he loses?
shareNo.
shareThe Weinsteins don't have the power they used to anymore. Last year, "Carol" and "The Hateful Eight" should have been shoo-ins for multiple nominations and each barely got a handful. I imagine, as assured as the win was, it was difficult for Weinstein to get the voters to finally give Ennio Morricone the win.
As for Mahershala Ali, I think he's still the frontrunner. If it isn't him, I honestly doubt it'll be Dev Patel, but Michael Shannon, who garnered the same level of critique that All has. Jeff Bridges seems more like a "just glad to be nominated" type of performance and Lucas Hedges has his entire career ahead of him.
There's a difference between a differing opinion and a forced one.
'Does Mahershala Ali still have a shot at the Oscars?'''
It all depends on his aim.
It's that man again!!
