Gigi

"Stay off my team" had me rolling. What is wrong with everyone hating Gigi?

reply

I assume that the father's love and favortism puts her at odds with her mom and siblings. As of right now I see no need for them to hate her the way they do. Pastor or no all asses would have gotten cussed out at that damn family dinner.

Yes Kerissa especially. You would've thought she was her mother or sister not sister in law.

reply

The hatred of Gi-Gi was a little over-the-top. I think it is to make us root for Gi-Gi and frankly it worked. Plus she is a single mom and never married her daughter's father. What is up with that? I mean the girl is a pastor so that is interesting for her to have not married somebody. I am really curious about what else will be revealed in this show. I like it so far and will tune in.

reply

Yeah I think GiGi was molested by Mac too from what they revealed at the end of the episode and I think Mac will try to do the same to her daughter.

reply

I don't believe it for a second. Gigi is strong. There is no way if Mac tried that with her she would have sat back and not said anything. Because she already said when she found out he was doing that to Faith, she immediately went to their parents and told them. They didn't want to believe it and Faith not wanting to make waves said she made it up.

reply

In the last episode near the end when she was talking to her ex She said somoething along the lines "and that's why I didn't tell you cause you would have done something to Mac, I just told you we should be free to see other people before I left" That makes me think otherwise.

reply

Yeah, it's something strange about Mac and Gigi's relationship, I just hope he doesn't try anything with her daughter.

And yes, I find it weird how everyone has something against her like she personally did something to them. Obviously they're very threatened by her, but they have no reason to be because she's on their side.

reply

From the previews they showed it looks like Mac was having dinner with her daughter so I'm sure he will try something. I don't get why everyone hates Gigi though. I guess we will find out.

reply

Mac was not having dinner with Gigi's daughter. It's a young woman named Michaela. Gigi's daughter is Sophia. Unfortunately they cast two actresses who look like each other. I hate when they do that. It's pretty confusing.

She was talking about the situation with Faith and what she was going through at the time because of it, i. e. she was alone and had no one to talk to about it. Especially after Faith recanted and said she made it up. Trust Mac is afraid of Gigi. She sees right through his ass and is not afraid to mess up things for him. That's why he was threatening his sister telling her to get Gigi to back off.

reply

I think it all boils down to various family members wanting money and power, particularly the Mom and Kerissa. The bishop clearly favors Gigi and I think Kerissa is jealous of Gigi's fortunes rising while hers are falling apart.

reply

She meant that's why she didn't tell her boyfriend about a faith because she felt he would have gotten involved; maybe even fear for Gigi. But Mac never had anything with Gigi. She would not have stood for that. But she didn't stick around long enough to stay and help Faith because Faith had changed her story.

I'm guessing there is something more to it. But four episodes in, there doesn't seem to be.

BINGO!! She is the favorite and THAT is what people hate. Gigi can get whatever she wants because Bishop adores her. That is what the animosity was all about from Kerissa at the dinner table in the first episode, and why the Charity didn't want her. Charity wants to prove she can hold her own when clearly she can't. Bottom line, those who want the power undeservedly, are angry with her and resent the favor she has from Bishop.

Favoritism always causes tension in families. It's clear she's her father's pride and Joy, and a daddy's girl. The others resent her for it, as non-favored siblings tend to do.
