For the life of me, I can't figure out if the First Lady is genuinely a nice woman or if she's always pretending.

Examples: when she's discussing Noah's wedding with Noah and his fiancé. Another was when she acted happy when her daughter said she was pregnant.

I can't tell if she was really happy for them or being a phoney old wench.

I know exactly what you mean OP! I felt the same way in both the scenes you mentioned as well as tonight when she came in and told the lady Uncle Mac had assaulted "God bless you".
