the Greenleaf McMansion
Weird that their formal dining room is about 10 feet from the front door.
and when Charity kicked Kevin out of their bedroom he sleeps on a couch-- as if there isn't a "guest" bedroom.

Good point, Calumette! Especially since Grace and Sophia clearly have a suite of their own, including a sitting room. I would expect Charity & Kevin to have a separate sitting/living room at the least.
In addition, as persnickety as Lady Mae is -- we should expect for her to descend the staircase and announce that she does not want the smell of Kevin to get into the sofa.
So do Charity and Kevin live in her parents' mansion? I thought they had their own home.
shareYou hit it home Calumette! WTH was he doing in the formal living room! Come on OWN, Lady Mae would've threw a hissy fit.

HAHAHA! I came here to post about that. That house is so darn big Kevin could disappear, but he's sleeping on the couch five feet from the front door!
shareI was thinking the same thing. You mean to tell me, in that big a** house, there are no other guest rooms?
shareProof of the family distinction and Mae's controlling behaviour is that their children don't have their own homes! Who wants to live with their parents???? The only reason is that they're mooching and Mae wants to control them.
shareFamily living together is common especially if they have a compound. Think Dallas, Falcon Crest, Cosby Show, Dynasty, Bold and the Beautiful and tons of other shows.
shareI have seen this on a lot of shows. Even though they were smaller homes, there was no one else living in the home, so you know there was at lease one or two other bedrooms. I don't understand why shows insist on doing this. It is so obvious and unrealistic.

I thought the same thing, too. After reading the other posts, I started counting the folks who live there...
Bishop and Lady Mae - 1 bedroom
Grace - 1 bedroom
Sophia - 1 bedroom
Jacob and Kerissa - 1 bedroom
Zora - 1 bedroom
Charity and Kevin - 1 bedroom
Nursery - 1 bedroom
So that's a total of 7 bedrooms (maybe). IF that is right, then I can see him sleeping in the living room. I'm just surprised Lady Mae didn't throw a major tizzy; her reaction really surprised me....
Please help me with something else, do Jacob and Kerissa have another child; a son? Why do I think I saw them with a son at the beginning of the series?? Or maybe I'm getting this show mixed up with another one.... LOL
TIA

Booklover, yes, Jacob and Kerissa have a son they have nicknamed Winkie. He is younger than Zora. So, there should be an additional bedroom for him, too. In fact, Lady Mae made it a point to tell Jacob that she would miss saying goodnight to Winkie if the family moved out.
shareThanks, wts7741. I thought I recalled Jacob playing with a little boy but I missed Lady Mae's comment.
