Garance Marillier (Justine) plus question (spoilers)

The main actress reminds me of Élodie Bouchez in her earlier films. Fine acting and she is cute, too.

My question is: was the sister always like her? Was it hereditary (judging by the final scene)?
So why did she shame her in front of everyone and cry when Justine ate her finger?

I loved the film btw.

Thanks.

I was really confused by the shaming as well. Perhaps it was a way to try to stop her before the hunger became out of control. I believe she was crying because she saw her little sister becoming something she hated about herself. She was probably hoping it wouldn't be hereditary and then was upset to learn that it was. I actually thought the main actress was Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones! All great performances indeed.

It was a red herring too, and later she tries to teach her little sis how to feed (the car accident).
I suppose it's her causing the crash in the film's opening scene as well.

You're right. Alexia caused car crash from beginning of movie, later in movie there was shown wreckage of blue car in bus scene. Alexia caused fatalities in two car crash and latter she murder Adrien.

Alexia was wild and driven by her primal instincts.

Director Julia says once to Alexia's character was supposed to be cannibal animal. "She's hungry, she eats" says Julie.
It's ironic since Alexia tells Justine to she's weak and won't endure with cannibalism in her. In fact Alexia "opens" Justine's eyes with killing Adrien but if she did't kill him Justine's cannibalism could become worse and aggressive.
I silently wanted to Justine become cannibal animal just like Alexia but it could ruin movie.

Very interesting info. Thanks.
