If anyone passed out during this movie, it was from being drunk or just bored. Not a particularly bad movie, but it should never have been billed as horror.
Well. It is a horror movie. Not so strong, not so gross and not so jump scary, but still horror movie. Just like Rosemary's Baby is a fantastic horror movie without gore, jump scares and all. Not comparing both movies (god forbids), this Raw is an OK movie only. But still fits best as horror than any other cathegory.
Agree that after watching it, it felt that the topic in this board saying that the passing out thing was marketing felt kind of right. I'm weak for gore movies, very weak, and this one was not so hard for me, so I would believe it wouldn't be hard for most people. Maybe only if it was very old, conservative ladies that were watching after eating a bad burger.
You make good points. For me, though, this felt more like a coming-of-age tale with an artsy twist. The atmosphere wasn't particularly unsettling, and I never really felt a sense of suspense or urgency. I was quite invested in the characters, don't get me wrong. It was a pretty good story. Maybe it's because the film started out with such a bang, but I was just left wanting more panic or terror.
